Alignment

A seed rests in a furrowed field beneath a crescent moon and rising sun, in a solar-eclipse alignment.
Fig. I — Alignment

There are moments when things align.

A place.
A time.
An idea.

For thousands of years, human beings have looked to the sky and wondered whether the movements above us mean something about the lives unfolding below.

Perhaps they do.
Perhaps they don't.

We are made from the same ancient matter as the stars we observe.

The elements within us were forged long before any of us existed.

And yet consciousness remains one of the great unanswered questions.

Where does an idea begin?
Why does it appear when it does?
Why do certain ideas seem to find different people, separated by distance and circumstance, at almost the same moment?

We call some things coincidence.
Others, synchronicity.

And occasionally, when enough unlikely things happen together, we say that the stars aligned.

Perhaps that is simply the human mind searching for patterns.
Perhaps there is something more.

Project ROOT makes no claim.

It simply preserves the moment.
And waits.

If this idea stays with you long after you've finished reading...

Perhaps it has already taken root.
